1992 - 1994: Student of chemistry, University of Tübingen
1994 - 1999: Student of geology-palaeontology and biology, specialising in palaeobotany and genetics. One paper published in this time.
1999 - 2000: Graduation (Diplom) in geology-palaeontology
2000 - 2003: Ph.D. student, scientific assistant; funded by the German Science Foundation (SFB 475; project # He549/14-1). One new paper.
2003 - 2005: Post-doc, scientific assistant; funded by the German Science Foundation (project # He549/14-1,2). Three new papers.
2005 - 2008: Project leader ('Eigene Stelle'); funded by the German Science Foundation (project # Gr3123/1-1,2). 11 new papers.
2008 - 2009: Post-doc; Naturhistoriska riksmuseet, Paleobotanik. Six new papers.
2009 - 2013: Research assistant, Naturhistoriska riksmuseet, Palaeobotanik; position funded by the Vetenskapradet "Fylogenetiska signaler från fossiler taxa - bioinformatik möter paleobotanik". 10 new papers.
2014: Project staff (part-time; until July), Naturhistoriska riksmuseet, Palaeobotanik; registered as free trader since August. 10 new papers.
2015 - 2016: Visiting researcher (Lise-Meitner-stipendiate), University of Vienna, Institut of Palaeontology, Department of Palaeobotany. Two new papers until now.
